Arrival in Amsterdam!

Tired and a little stiff, we have arrived in Amsterdam! Everyone is in really good spirits and the twinkle is very bright in al 36 eyes! Of course, the younger pups are bouncing off the walls and the old goats are dragging up the rear. It is 8:45 am Wednesday morning local time. We will depart in just a little while for Johannasburg. The second leg of our flight will be about 11 or 12 hours, I think.

Just to let you know what a fantastic group we have - there have been countless encounters with complete strangers where we have been able to share our faith, what the mission is and how GOD IS SO GOOD! We have met people from all over the world and actually linked up with some short-term missionaries from Georgia who are headed to East Africa and a gentleman who was born in Iran who is now a US citizen. He is going home for the first time to share the love of Jesus with his family. Please pray for him - he is scared to death.

Seeing all of the 'world' in this airport has given us a great sense of pride in our heritage and our roots. It makes us miss home even more. Thank you all for your support and prayers. And the comments after these posts are a HUGE hit with everyone - you can imagine everyone huddling around the laptop when we can get a faint signal...

Please forward the link to this blg to anyone and everyone. We covet all of the prayers. NOTE - we are keeping a very close watch on everyone with our group. We look like a box of redworms walking thru the airport!

We love ya'll and can't wait to do the business we are here to do. God Bless each of you and we hope you are resting peacefully.

Your Swazi Team

It is awesome to know that your journey has been filled with opportunities even before you touch African soil. Thanks for the blessings you have all been to us as our family has helped with your preparation and now tracks your travels. We look forward to hearing more stories of how God is using all of you to show and share His love.

Our family is praying for you! Hope mentioned "Squiggy" (Squeaky)in her prayers on Tuesday night. She told God that she was going to miss him and wanted Him to keep "Squiggy" safe.

We love you!

Paula emailed us that the group has made it to Johanasburg. Praise the Lord for safe travel! The bead bracelets continue to provide an open door to conversations here at UAB. Last night about 1am the clerk at Starbucks asked me about it and we ended up talking about 30 minutes. She's a seeker (trying to figure the God thing out, in her words). She was amazed to hear that folks from Alabama would travel so far to share the love of Christ.
We continue to fall to our knees daily in lifting you up.

Since it's 1am here in B'ham (dinner time here at UAB) Thurs nite/ Fri morn, I'm guessing you all are getting ready to be on your way for the bus ride to Swaziland.
Wanted to pass along our prayers and thoughts with you as this day unfolds. Came across this bible verse tonight and it really seems fitting for you all today:

Passage Isaiah 52:7:

7 -10How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger bringing good news, Breaking the news that all's well,
proclaiming good times, announcing salvation,
telling Zion, "Your God reigns!" Voices! Listen! Your scouts are shouting, thunderclap shouts,
shouting in joyful unison. They see with their own eyes
God coming back to Zion. Break into song! Boom it out, ruins of Jerusalem:
"God has comforted his people!
He's redeemed Jerusalem!" God has rolled up his sleeves.
All the nations can see his holy, muscled arm. Everyone, from one end of the earth to the other,
sees him at work, doing his salvation work.

Hey Team,

By now you have probably visited the carepoint and have touched those precious angels awaiting your arrival. As I was reading last night I came across this..."When common men and women are motivated by courage to do uncommon acts of valor, we call them heroes." It takes great courage to be obedient to His Will sometimes, and I want all of you to know that YOU are my HERO. I miss you and love you dearly.

Zephaniah 3:17 says The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

It is so good to have a relationship with God, and delight in Him and know that He will give us strength to handle what He has instructed us to do.
I am praying for you all.

Ephesians 2:10 states "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." We pray blessings over you as you walk on the paths God has prepared for you all. You are all precious in His sight! We are comforted to know that you have made it to Swazi and checked-in. By now you should be seeing the faces of all of the precious children God has prepared for your coming. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise Him all creatures here below.... GO TEAM!
